Tyers Family Home-Ownership Story
Not on your own time...
Craig and Thyleen first came to me early 2021 when they saw their dream home. I remember we met over a milkshake and talked business and more!
Two hours and a few emotional tears later, I knew that I just had to get this bond approved for this wonderful couple.
Because of their good credit profile and affordability that was in order, the approval went quickly. We were all super exited and humbled by the bank’s quick positive
response, however, our excitement were soon suppressed by the fact that their current property did not sell in time. This was a condition that needed to be fulfilled.
Because I grew so fond of this family, I felt their hurt. I saw their sadness and felt their loss.
Craig and Thyleen have wonderful stories they tell. Of how they met, what they overcome as a couple and don’t get Craig started…he can keep going for hours! 😊
But the stories they share are those that you want to listen to! It is the kind of stories that make you understand that they so desperately want to move into a bigger place… Their lovely home is getting too small for all the love and they so much want a new house that they can make it their new home.
Not soon after we had to withdraw their application, they saw another property. This is the one! Or so we thought…
They had a buyer for their current property, so what could go wrong?! But to cut to the chase, this property was registered in a late estate and for some reason we could not register. Again this couple and their 2 wonderful children were heart broken. But I remember Craig and Thyleen being positive. “This happened for a reason…we just don’t know why though.”
July 2022 I got a call from Craig. He was super excited. He couldn’t stop talking and I was trying to figure out what exactly he is trying to tell me. “We found our house! It is so spacious, with a nice yard…and it has a flat!” Although I wanted to get excited for their sake, I was thinking…would this be 3rd time lucky, or are they now finally going to be put off by this new home buying process. Why were all these things happening to this beautiful family.
Well guys, this was the one! Third time lucky indeed!
I will never forget their faces when they walked into the attorney’s office for signature. They were dressed up so beautiful, but they looked stressed – Craig was pale in his face. I made a little joke to calm their nerves. Tears were rolling down from our faces. Tears of joy and happiness.
Craig and Thyleen are new home owners now since October 2022. In this new property their son turned 21, their daughter graduated, and they bought a new car. Thyleen’s mother came to visit in Kimberley – first time in 16 years! And as an added bonus, the couple staying in their yard had their first newborn baby.
This new property has just brought so many blessings!
